Sectors
Renewables resourcing across wind, solar and storage.
Development, construction and O&M people for offshore and onshore wind, utility-scale solar and battery storage — including the GWO and HV competences that gate site and turbine access.
Market context
What’s driving demand in Renewables
Offshore wind is the largest single driver of UK energy construction demand. Dogger Bank, Sofia, Neart na Gaoithe and the ScotWind pipeline have created sustained demand for package managers, marine coordinators and technicians — and floating wind in the Celtic Sea and off Scotland is adding a discipline set the UK has never resourced at volume before.
Onshore the picture is different but no less tight. Utility-scale solar and grid-scale battery storage projects are being built quickly and by smaller delivery teams, where a single BESS commissioning engineer or HV Authorised Person can be the critical path for an entire energisation date.
The binding constraint across all three is rarely enthusiasm — it is competence currency. GWO modules expire on a two-year cycle, offshore medicals lapse, and HV authorisations are client-specific. Projects lose days to certification admin that could have been resolved before mobilisation.
- 50GW
- Government offshore wind ambition for 2030, the target that shapes most UK offshore resourcing plans
- 2 years
- GWO certificate validity period — the refresh cycle that quietly governs offshore technician availability
- 5GW
- Government ambition for floating offshore wind by 2030, a discipline set the UK is resourcing for the first time

Disciplines
Roles we typically place
A representative sample rather than a limit — if the discipline sits inside a renewables scope, we can usually resource it.
- Wind Turbine Technician (GWO)
- HV Authorised Person / SAP
- Offshore Package Manager
- Marine Coordinator
- BESS Commissioning Engineer
- Cable Installation & Termination Engineer
- Consents & Planning Manager
- SCADA / Control Systems Engineer
Tickets & compliance
What has to be in place before day one
We verify certification, clearance and right-to-work status before a candidate reaches your shortlist — and track expiry dates so a lapsed ticket never stops a shift.
GWO BST & BTT
Basic Safety Training and Basic Technical Training modules, with two-year refresh tracked before expiry.
GWO Advanced Rescue
Required for nacelle, hub and blade access on most offshore fleets.
OGUK / ENG1 medical
Offshore medical fitness, plus chester step where the client's transfer method demands it.
HV AP / SAP authorisation
Client-specific high-voltage authorisation for substation and array switching.
STCW basic safety
For marine crew and personnel spending working time on vessels.
CDM 2015 duties
Principal Designer and Principal Contractor duties on onshore solar, BESS and grid connection works.
How we help
Three ways we support Renewables programmes
Workforce Solutions
Technicians, engineers and package managers with GWO currency, medicals and HV authorisations verified — and diary-tracked so a lapse never stops a transfer.
Workforce Solutions for RenewablesManaged Project Services
Managed crews for campaign work — blade inspection, cable termination, BESS commissioning — delivered against a defined scope rather than a headcount.
Managed Project Services for RenewablesConsultancy Services
Resource curve modelling from FID through to O&M handover, so the ramp is planned against real market availability rather than an idealised S-curve.
Consultancy Services for RenewablesOther sectors we work in
The same disciplines and tickets travel further than people expect — many of our contractors move between these markets.
